Chad "Bronco" Zietz Obituary

Chad “Bronco” Mitchell Zietz, 50, passed away unexpectedly the morning of February 22nd in the comfort of his own home. Chad was born on August 22nd, 1975 to Terry and Laurie (Kilbourn) Zietz in Minot, North Dakota. Chad grew up as an avid sports player and excelled at any sport he tried. Chad played baseball, basketball, and his favorite sport of all, golf. Chad was a great golfer and spent many of his days swinging his golf clubs in the backyard, always coming back to say that he’s finally perfected his swing this time. Chad enjoyed fishing, racecars, and Formula 1 racing, even building his own racecar simulator and working on his 1979 Mercury Cougar. Most of all, Chad adored and loved his daughter Makenna and granddaughter Vivian. Chad was thankful to spend his last few years being close to his mother and living with Makenna and Vivian. He loved his daughters cooking and had an insatiable sweet tooth. Chad fondly remembered the first day he saw Makenna’s mother, Katie, working at the Blockbuster and the butterflies he felt. Chad had recently been reading the Bible he was gifted for Christmas and found comfort in Jesus and music. Chad had a beaming smile, a great sense of humor, and loved his family more than anything.

“Every time I see a papa and a little girl laughing together I will think of you. I know you had a sweet tooth and I’ll make sure I eat a lot of sweet treats for you papa. I love you to the moon and back.” -Viv

Chad is survived by his daughter Makenna Zietz (Cody), granddaughter Vivian Ready, his mother Laurie (Peter) LeCaptaine, the mother of his daughter Katie Roidt, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins and friends. Chad was preceded in death by his dad, his beloved sister Tonya, his grandfather Lyle Kilbourn and Uncle Dale who he took pride in caring for on their journey to everlasting life, and 2 infant sisters Shanette and Nikki Rae.

Psalm 61:2: From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
